Competition Projects

I regularly enter my work into competitions. These are pieces that take more time and can have up to 1000+ hours put into one project. Not only do these competition pieces feature costumes, they also require a perfomance that I write, block, perform, and even film. They are a creative outlet I use to learn new techniques and grow as a costumer.

Lupin III

This project was a collaborative effort and a personal challenge to see if everything could be made from scratch. I learned how to knit socks from a sock loom, fully ventelate 2 lace wigs, bespoke tailoring techniques, and how to engineer an instant quick change.

Haku (Hannah Alevander Version)

This is a solo project that required 6 months of work total, 4 months were dedicated to hand embroidery. Featured techniques include fabric dyeing, indigo dyeing, hand embroidery, braiding, and silk painting.

Sakizo: Noir

This project was a challenge in fabric manipulation. All the fabric featured started as white muslin. Every detail on the garment was hand-sewn. Other techniques include, tea dyeing, mask making, smocking, hand embroidery, and beading.
